Photo of the Day

Since my digital camera is still broken and in the only "legal" camera-fixing place in San Pedro Sula they want to fix it without a guarantee for $150 (I'm still debating this one...), my friend who is the owner of the only film developing place in town took pity on me and let me borrow one of his cameras.

At my house, there are 12 hens and roosters running around making lots of noise all day and all night. Lately, they've all been fattening up and my family has started to eat them.

This is a picture of 2 of them being proactive and trying to guard their lives by climbing to the top of our lime tree. It was a pretty funny picture, as the chickens climbed up to the very top of the tree (about 15 feet.) Poor chicken.

The photo of the day:

Beth. I want to send you a bday package. It is in its little box, all ready to go. Two questions: 1) Anything specific you want from the NYC? For you, anything. 2) Should I wait and send it to your P.O. box, or would you rather me send it now? Either way, I realize it probably won't to you by next week, but let me know what's easiest for you. I misss you!!

Alicen!!! How are you? So, I don't think I have your email address, so I hope you see this. Do you still have the Sweetpoof address?

That is super exciting that you are sending me a bday package! If you don't mind waiting for the P.O. box it would be much cheaper to send and more secure. I'm going to open it tomorrow (hopefully.)

Hmmm... Cosas de Nueva York? I wouldn't be sad if you sent Yogi organic Yerba Mate Tea bags (they're in a green box.). I just used my last tea bag and I'm very sad. Or, if there is an abundance of Indian food in your grocery store...a little spice packet for making Chicken Tikka Masala (if you don't find this, no te preocupes.) The only kind of food served in Honduras is Honduran with an occasional Chinese restaurant and pizza place. I miss Swagat!

I miss you a lot! What's going on with you? Being a famous journalist, I'm sure. Everything is going good here in Honduras. School's ending here until February, so I'm working on vacation programs. It should be a busy winter. I'm helping the colegio organize a basketball and volleyball team and theater, Latin dance and English clubs. Should be fun!

Have a fun fin de semana! And send me your email address. When I get rich enough I'll buy a phone card and call you! Yay for $200/month! I found a house! I'm very excited! It has a big yard so I can have pets! And my host sister will be my neighbor!

Te extraño chica!

Hi Beth. I enjoy reading your comments about your life in Honduras. We are very proud of you and your efforts there. Keep up the good work. I know your birthday is just around the corner. I actually thought about it before the date instead of on or after the date. I'll keep an eye out for the p.o. address.

Tracy got married on saturday. She looked very pretty and is very happy. They went to the Poconos in PA for a brief honeymoon, then back to work. When we get the pics from the photographer, I will try to figure out how to e-mail a few to you.

Take care, Bill and Nancy (Beth and Tracy too)
